The physicians at Neurology Associates are experienced in providing care for disorders of the spine and spinal cord. Common disorders include injury to the nerve roots from bulging or herniated discs in the spinal column, causing pain and sensory changes. These can occur from injury, overuse or in many cases simply develop with time. There is building evidence that there is a strong genetic component.
Along with a clinical examination, neurodiagnostic testing with nerve conduction studies and electromyography and neuroimaging help to pin point the location of nerve injury and guides treatment. We use local physical therapists, chiropractors, pain specialists, physiatrists and appropriate surgical specialists in the care of our patients with spinal pain.
